Trump's doctor now says it's no big deal if his health is bad: 'That’s why we have a vice president'

Dr. Harold Bornstein drew a lot of criticism when he wrote a typo-riddled medical evaluation of then-candidate Donald Trump last year that declared Trump to be in "astonishingly excellent" health.

Now The Hill reports that Bornstein has only just realized that Trump will be the oldest person to ever take the office of the presidency -- but he says it's not a big deal because Vice President-elect Mike Pence can quickly take on the job if Trump happens to keel over.

"If something happens to him, then it happens to him," Bornstein said in an interview with STAT News. "It’s like all the rest of us, no? That’s why we have a vice president and a Speaker of the House and a whole line of people. They can just keep dying."

Bornstein also pointed out that President Ronald Reagan suffered from "pre-senile dementia" during his time in office, but he said that it didn't matter because no one ever brought it up.

"I mean, seriously, did they share that one with you, or did Nancy just cover it up?" he asked STAT News rhetorically.

Bornstein this past summer admitted that his original medical evaluation of Trump -- in which he said that "if elected, Mr. Trump… will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency" -- was scrawled down in just five minutes.
