Trump’s leaks have made it too dangerous for Pelosi to travel -- according to his own State Dept: speaker's office

On Thursday, the Trump administration admonished House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her scheduled trip abroad, including a stop in Afghanistan to assess the situation on-the-ground in light of the president's decision to withdrawal US troops.

The president also prohibited Pelosi from taking government aircraft.

The delegation was going to fly commercial, citing the importance of the trip.

"The Congress has an institutional responsibility to conduct oversight in the war zone where our men and women in uniform are risking their lives every day," wrote Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill.

Pelosi office noted that the State Department said Trump's leaking of "sensitive" information had made it too dangerous for the congresswoman to travel abroad.

"In light of the grave threats caused by the President’s action, the delegation has decided to postpone the trip so as not to further endanger our troops and security personnel, or the other travelers on the flights,” the statement said.
