Trump's 'shills' know he's guilty as they cynically try to undermine the Mueller report: Conservative professor

On Saturday, U.S. Naval War College professor Tom Nichols, a Trump-skeptic conservative, tweeted a lengthy thread deconstructing the behavior of President Donald Trump's loyalists in the wake of special counsel Robert Mueller's report on Russia.

Specifically, Nichols identified their desperation to headfake the media into believing the report is exonerating, and demand a mea culpa from reporters who implied otherwise. The problem there is that the report is, in fact, not exonerating. And, suggested Nichols, many of them are doing so because they know the media in fact got the president dead to rights, and are panicking:
