President Donald Trump had a photo opportunity in the Oval Office on Wednesday, which allowed the press to shout questions about his plan for Iran. But one question involved former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who attacked Trump on his streaming show over the matter.
The two have had an escalating war of words online and in the media.
Last week, Carlson attacked U.S. military intervention in the conflict between Iran and Israel. He claimed there was a divide between “those who casually encourage violence, and those who seek to prevent it—between warmongers and peacemakers.”
"Who are the warmongers? They would include anyone who’s calling Donald Trump today to demand air strikes and other direct U.S. military involvement in a war with Iran,” Carlson said via social media.
He included a list of people, which included several Fox personalities.
"At some point, they will all have to answer for this, but you should know their names now," Carlson signed off.
When asked about it previously, Trump said, “I don't know what Tucker Carlson is saying. Let him go get a television network and say it so that people listen."
"Somebody please explain to kooky Tucker Carlson that, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!" Trump then posted on Truth Social.
Trump said Wednesday that Carlson called to say he was sorry.
“He called and apologized the other day because he thought he said things that were a little bit too strong, and I appreciated that," said Trump.
Trump said about whether he'll go to war, "You have to do what you have to do."
