Tweet threatens to ‘waste’ everyone at town hall event for Devin Nunes' opponent

Police are investigating a threat made toward Rep. Devin Nunes's opponent as well as those attending a town hall event.

According to The Fresno Bee reported that as of noon Wednesday, the tweet was still available by someone with the handle @Mtat22. It came as a response to a tweet by a popular account supporting Nunes opponent Andrew Janz.

“How about I waste you and everybody in the Clovis town hall,” the user threatened.

The account doesn’t have any followers and the profile photo is of New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

Janz said that the campaign contacted the Clovis police about the threat after it was posted. He considered canceling the event but after speaking to police he decided to move forward with it. Undercover officers were present at the event, the candidate explained.
