After stating in a second interview in a week that he sees no evidence of Donald Trump personally cashing in on his presidency, Vice President JD Vance was warned he may want to rethink his defense.
In an interview with Mark Halperin, Vance stated, “What I would say is I don't think there's evidence that the Trump family has become enriched by politics. I think that the fact, the fact that their lives were so destroyed or almost destroyed, I should say, is the evidence that they sacrificed a lot for politics.”
After the clip was shown on MS NOW’s “Morning Joe,“ co-host Joe Scarborough called it a blatant lie and added, “I know he wants to live in a world of lies where low-information voters, he thinks, will be too stupid to know the basic facts, but they know them. I mean, according to Donald Trump's most recent financial disclosure, his revenue in 2025 jumped to at least $2.2 billion.”
“How did JD Vance miss that?’ asked co-host Mika Brzezinski.
According to guest Kurt Bardella, a former GOP spokesperson, Vance is putting his 20208 presidential aspirations at risk, and he needs to read the room.
“These guys are giving out government taxpayer contracts, no-bid, to their cronies and buddies, and not even get the job done; hence the reflecting pool,” he began. “These guys are giving out defense contracts to companies that the president's family are on the board of, or financial investors in. These guys are handing out pardons to the highest bidder, all of which will come under the microscope of a Democratic oversight majority next year.”
“And if JD Vance isn't aware of the fact that his boss has made billions of dollars while being president of the United States, he better tune in to every committee hearing that's going to go on next year, because they're going to show up with the receipts,” he cautioned. “They're going to show up with the bank statements, and they're going to be able to show you on a forensic accounting level exactly who got what, where, why, how, and what they delivered for it. All of that is going to be on display. All that's going to be under the microscope.”
