Lincoln Memorial vandalized with pro-Palestinian graffiti: report

The steps of the Lincoln Memorial were vandalized with red spray paint and the words "free Gaza," Fox 5 reported Wednesday.

The phrase was spray-painted in several places around the memorial and red paint was splattered on the ground, according to the report.

The National Park Service began removing the graffiti immediately after it was discovered, but they told Fox 5 it might take several attempts to completely remove all the paint.

The United States Park Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them.

News of the incident was met with anger on X.

"Nothing will help Palestinians more than vandalizing iconic American national monuments," one person wrote.

"You don’t hate these people enough," wrote another.
