Vandals spray paint 'Kill all Jews' at Brooklyn synagogue hosting progressive political event

A vandal this week spray painted an anti-Semitic threat on the interior of a Brooklyn synagogue that was scheduled to host a progressive political event this week.

The New York Post reports that the message "Kill all Jews" was found scrawled on a door inside the Union Temple in Brooklyn Heights, just before a scheduled political forum hosted by Broad City’s Ilana Glazer was supposed to take place.

After finding the graffiti, Glazer came out and told the crowd at the event that she was canceling the event.

"She didn’t feel comfortable ushering 200 people into the enclosed space; potential sitting ducks," an attendee named Kathryn Gonzalez posted on Facebook.

Glazer had been scheduled to interview left-wing journalist Amy Goodman of "Democracy Now" as well as New York state senate candidates Andrew Gounardes and Jim Gaughran.

Gounardes told the Post that he hopes this incident doesn't intimidate people intending to vote in next week's midterm elections.

"We can’t afford to stand in the silence or be scared or intimated," he said.

New York Police are investigating the graffiti, but so far no arrests have been made.
