Vermont Democrat Pat Leahy mocks Kavanaugh's temperament on MSNBC: 'The SNL skit was too accurate'

Vermont Democrat Pat Leahy slammed Brett Kavanaugh's temperament in Tuesday appearance on MSNBC, saying that a "Saturday Night Live" sketch mocking the Supreme Court nominee's angry outbursts was "too accurate".
Host Andrea Mitchell asked the senator to offer his opinion on the nominee's temperament, and played a clip from Kavanaugh's hearing, in which the nominee got so aggressive and angry that he drew a rebuke from Leahy for trying to "filibuster the answer".
"I watched it the next day, but the "Saturday Night Live" skit with Matt Damon? Unfortunately that was too accurate of what Judge Kavanaugh was like," Leahy said. "I've never seen a judicial nominee like this and it does not reflect a judicial temperament."
Leahy took pains to point out that he had a record of voting across the aisle. "I voted for a lot of Republican nominees," he said. "I may disagree with them philosophically, but I thought they had the temperament of being a judge."
Leahy went on to mock Kavanaugh's efforts to change the subject from the allegations of alcoholism and sexual assault that have haunted his nomination. "He wanted to talk about lifting weights in high school, but we wanted to talk about did he get the Manny Miranda stolen e-mails," Leahy said, referring to Kavanaugh's role in a Bush administration scandal involving hacking into Senate Democrats' computers. "As more and more information is coming out, it shows that he had misled the committee."
Leahy called for "a fair, full, complete FBI investigation", and had a warning for Republicans. "You're voting for this person and the information will eventually come out, he said.
"It might be a year from now, or two years from now. How are you going to explain your vote?"
