The View’s Joy Behar lets Michael Cohen’s attorney have it for misleading reporters about Trump Tower meeting

Michael Cohen's attorney Lanny Davis was the CNN source that indicated President Donald Trump was aware of the Trump Tower meeting involving the Russians promising "dirt" on Hillary Clinton.

Davis has spent weeks doing the rounds on cable news to explain why he was mistaken and apologizing but it bothered "The View's" co-host Joy Behar enough to ask how he'll rectify the situation.

"I hate to pile on this, really, but I feel like, you know, you made a mistake," Behar said after multiple questions about the controversy.

She went on to say Cohen isn't exactly the most reliable person in the world and the last thing progressives need is to give Trump fodder for his war on the media.

"We know that Cohen already lacked credibility all over the place. We have tape of him acting like a thug. He was Trump's long-time fixer. He threatened reporters. He's an admitted felon," she continued. And now we're questioning your credibility, too. I mean, this is terrible, because it's bad enough that Trump is always, you know, 'The false media. The lies. The fake news.' This is a reckless thing that happened. How are we going to fix it?"

Davis said that there is a difference between a mistake and a lie.

"I hope everyone watching knows there's a possibility of making an honest mistake and intentionally misrepresenting the truth," he said. "Which we're at over 3,000 according to The Washington Post fact checker when it comes to this president of the United States. There is a difference."

He said that Cohen was the one who came to him asking for representation because he wanted to tell the truth about Donald Trump the "the same way the anonymous writer in The New York Times yesterday came to a decision to write the truth about this reckless, dangerous man in the White House. And that's what I'm doing."
