"The View" co-host Meghan McCain said she has real concerns about President Donald Trump's loyalty to the U.S. -- but she confessed she's more worried about misleading claims about Democratic policies.
The conservative McCain said Republicans should ask Trump about his relationship with Russian president Vladimir Putin, and wonder why he went out of his way to attack U.S. allies.
"Why are you so cozy with Putin?" she said. "Why is it easier for you to attack Canada than it is Russia. Again, I think there's a time where 'collusion, collusion, collusion' sounds like an alarm going off, but there are legitimate questions that conservatives and Republicans should have about this very bizarre, cozy relationship, bromance."
Fellow conservative Ana Navarro said Republicans had accepted that, just like evangelicals had accepted Trump's marital infidelities.
"Would you have ever in your life imagine that Republicans would stick by a president who cheated on his wife, who had just given birth, with a Playboy bunny and then cheated on the Playboy bunny with a stripper?" Navarro said.
McCain said GOP voters stuck with the party and a president many of them disliked because they had concerns about Democratic policies that were misleadingly hyped by conservative media.
"Democrats have to present an alternative that is rational and not crazy," McCain said. "If you're talking about you're the party of third-term abortion, the party of ultimate socialism, you're giving people an absolute decision between one or the other."
McCain's own misleading claims about late-term abortion were widely debunked just last week, and she didn't specifics about the socialist policies she dreaded.
"A lot of conservatives think, 'All right, the economy is okay,' and they're going to let other things slide," McCain said.
