The View’s Meghan McCain interrupts Chabad shooting discussion to worry about her Jewish friend

"The View" co-host Meghan McCain barged into a discussion of anti-Semitism following the California synagogue shooting to fret about her Jewish friend's personal safety.

Co-host Sunny Hostin said the latest synagogue shooting, at Chabad of Poway, also showed the need for additional regulations on ownership of AR-15 rifles, and host Whoopi Goldberg steered her back toward the rise of white nationalist hate, when McCain cut in.

"I have something to say," McCain said.

Goldberg cleared the floor for her.

"I mean, days like yesterday and today are hard and horrific for all Americans," McCain said. "You can't help but feel scared."

McCain, who went on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos" to blame Democratic lawmakers, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), for the rise in anti-Semitism, claimed a personal stake in the issue.

"I have a friend who is a commentator who is Jewish and goes to a synagogue with security," McCain said. "There's a 30 percent increase in hates groups, 7 percent increase in 2018. We need to do a reflection culturally about where we're at."

McCain placed some of the blame on tech companies for the rise of white nationalist hatred.

"One of the things I would look to is how these guys are getting radicalized," McCain said. "He was on 8chan, which is a dark corner of the internet. We're all free speech advocates, we make our living off free speech. That doesn't mean, I think, there should be dark corners of the internet where people can be radicalized to become terrorists. I think Silicon Valley has to answer for this. I don't think there should be places for child pornography and where people can be radicalized."
