Chaos erupts at NV Democratic convention amid tensions between Clinton and Sanders supporters

The Democratic convention in Nevada turned violent on Saturday, with at least one fight breaking out, according to video posted Twitter users who were in attendance.

Tensions were high between supporters of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), the Las Vegas Sun reports. They apparently spilled over on the state convention floor.

People can be seen scuffling, and a woman says into a microphone, "We need a medic in the front, a medic in the front."

The Sun reports that the Democratic convention in Clark County last month was rocky due to the deep rift between the supporters of the two candidates. Clinton currently leads in the state, though a Sanders supporter was quoted as saying the senator had "won" Nevada after the convention there.

The Democrats were meeting Saturday at the Paris Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, while Republicans were holding their event at the Reno/Sparks Convention Center, both starting at 9 a.m. local time, News3LV reports. According to The Hill, Sanders supporters were angry over convention rules and delegate counts, and also booed U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA), who is a Clinton supporter.

Boxer responded by saying, "“the future of the country is at stake. When you boo me, you’re booing Bernie Sanders. Go ahead. You’re booing Bernie Sanders.”
