Donald Trump's response to the mass shooting of police officers in Dallas was surprisingly restrained -- but the same can't be said of the chairman of his campaign in Virginia.
Via The Richmond Times Dispatch, Virginia Trump campaign chairman Corey Stewart wrote on Facebook Thursday evening that presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and Virginia Lt. Governor Ralph Northam were to blame for the deaths of police officers in Dallas.
"Liberal politicians who label police as racists--specifically Hillary Clinton and Virginia Lt. Governor Ralph Northam--are to blame for essentially encouraging the murder of these police officers tonight," Stewart wrote.
The Times Dispatch informs us that Stewart is currently chairman of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors and is a prospective candidate for the Republican nomination for Virginia governor. If he successfully gets the nomination, it's likely that he'll be facing off against the aforementioned Northam, who is the favorite to get the Democratic nomination.
