A House Republican announced that additional files related to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks would be declassified on the event's 25th anniversary.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), who leads the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets that investigates and seeks the public release of files related to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, announce Friday that she's been told to expect more to come out later the same day.
"I have just recieve(d) word that there will be 9/11 files declassified today (in the next few hours)," Luna posted on X.
Luna's announcement came shortly after a 9/11 victim's widow, at the annual reading of the names of those killed, urged President Donald Trump to reveal Saudi Arabian officials' alleged ties to the attack.
"For 25 years, administration after administration, including leaders in front of us here today, chose to protect the Saudis instead of standing with the 9/11 families," Terry Strada claimed.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman enjoys a close relationship to Trump, but Strada pleaded with the president to release additional information about logistical support the kingdom may have provided to the hijackers.
"It has been one betrayal after another, President Trump can still change that," said Strada, whose group 9/11 Families United has spent years pursuing civil lawsuits against Saudi Arabia.
"Tell the Saudis to stop lying. Tell them that if they want to be friends with the USA, they cannot continue to deny all of this, all of the pain, all of the destruction that we have all been suffering through."
