Warren announces she will oppose Trump's Supreme Court nominee

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (R-MA) announced Tuesday she would oppose Donald Trump’s nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.

In a statement, Warren said Gorsuch’s public record as a federal judge shows “he has twisted himself into a pretzel to make sure the rules favor giant companies over workers and individual Americans.” Warren also cited the nominee’s “demonstrated hostility towards women’s access to basic health care” among the reasons she opposes Trump’s pick.

In her statement, the Democratic firebrand—who actively opposed Trump throughout the 2016 election—slammed the president for demonstrating “his hostility for our independent judiciary, our civil society, and the rule of law.”
