WATCH: California man arrested after dangling 8-month-old upside down by his leg

A California man was arrested this week after a woman in Visalia caught him on a hidden camera abusing her 8-month-old son.

KRON Channel 4 said Wednesday that Viviana Owen recently purchased and installed a nanny cam in her home -- and was shocked when she reviewed the video.

The camera caught Anthony Sembrano -- a friend of Owen's husband who lost his job and has been staying with the family -- picking up 8-month-old Vincent Owen by the leg and dangling him in the air.

Sembrano's wife has been watching the baby while Viviana Owen attends classes, but the new mom said she was horrified when she saw what was happening to her child when she was away.

“I was so upset, I was angry and hurt,” Owen told Channel 4. “What keeps going through my mind: So what else happened? I only had [the camera] for five days so what was he doing when there wasn’t a camera?”

Sembrano was arrested and booked into the Visalia jail for child abuse.

Now Owen recommends that all parents get a camera like hers.

“I suggest to anybody even if it’s your family that babysits or a close friend just get 'em,” she said.
