WATCH: Cops under fire for racially profiling black Florida state attorney after pulling her over for dark window tint

Newly released body camera footage shows Orlando Police Department officers telling Florida State Attorney Aramis Ayala that they pulled her over in part because the tint on her car's windows was too dark.

The Daily Mail has published a video released by the Orlando Police Department this week that showed what happened when Ayala was pulled over by officers on June 19.

The video shows one officer walking up to Ayala's car and examining her driver's license. He then explained why he pulled her over in the first place.

"Thank you, your tag didn't come back, never seen that before, but we're good now," the officer explained. "We ran the tag, I've never seen it before with a Florida tag, it didn't come back to anything, so that's the reason for the stop."

Ayala then asked the officer why he decided to run her tags in the first place -- and that's when he brought up the tint of her car windows.

"We run tags through all the time, whether it's a traffic light and that sort of stuff, that's how we figure out if cars are stolen," he said. "Also, the windows are really dark, I don't have a tint measure but that's another reason for the stop."

In response to RawStory's request for comment, the Orlando Police Department said that no complaint was filed against any officers involved in the stop, while noting that the car tag did not come back registered to any vehicle.

"The Orlando Police Department allows the running of tags for official business only, and this is done routinely on patrol," the department said. "In regards to the video, which was released by the Orlando Police Department last month, the officers stated the tag did not come back as registered to any vehicle. As you can see in the video, the window tint was dark, and officers would not have been able to tell who, or how many people, were in the vehicle. No complaint has been filed in reference to this traffic stop."
