WATCH: Florida couple uses living room as garage to protect vintage car from Irma

One Florida woman came up with a plan for how she would protect her property from Hurricane Irma.
The Miami Heraldfound a social media posting from a husband after he told his wife he wanted to do whatever it took to protect his vintage car.
"Yes, no problem, babe," Mai-Lee Acea told her husband as the couple decided to move the car into their living room.
Somehow, the couple managed to slide the car through the sliding glass doors in their townhouse.
If her name sounds familiar it's because she and her husband were guests on the reality TV shows “Bridezilla” and “Marriage Bootcamp” on We TV. While they've been married since 2012, Mai-Lee has worked on her "compromise" skills and she explained that was the reason she acquiesced to her husband's request.
“We are always arguing, so we’ve learned a lot of compromising techniques during our marriage,” she told The Herald. “But I never thought he would do it — it was a joke. That was the compromise.”
Except, it wasn't a joke. With the help of his brother, her husband managed to dismantle the sliding glass door to their living room and slid his dark red Datsun 240Z into the living room. After all, he has spent the last several months working to restore the 1987 Nissan model.
“What the f*ck did you do to my glass door,” she shouted.
“Where else am I supposed to put ‘the Z,’” her husband replied, thinking she was serious when she said it was fine to put the car in the living room.
“Actually, that was the fastest I had seen him work,” she noted to The Herald. “The rest of the shutters must have taken hours but the sliding glass door must have taken 10 minutes.”
He backed the car into the living room and covered it with plastic. The glass doors were reassembled and then boarded up with metal shutters to prepare for Hurricane Irma.
“Babe, you gotta get me some tape,” Tomas is heard on the Facebook video asking.
“Sure, sure. I’ll get you some tape for the car in my living room. Not a problem,” she replied.
The Herald noted he wasn't the first to try something. In 2016 another family drove a Toyota Venza into their family room to save it from Hurricane Matthew's wrath.
