WATCH: Florida fire chief threatens teens at gunpoint after stealing their phone in road rage rampage

A fire chief in Charlotte County, Florida has been charged with burglary and battery after allegedly getting in a verbal altercation with two 17-year-old boys, reportedly pulling one by the hair and pointing his gun at them.

As Southwest Florida's WINK News reported, Charlotte County Battalion Chief Jon Eric Miller allegedly got out of his car at a stoplight in Sarasota County, Florida on December 30 and opened the boys' car door to begin yelling at them. When one of the young men began trying to record the incident with his phone, the fire chief snatched it away from him and left the scene.

After trying to track the phone using the "Find my iPhone" app, the boys saw Miller's car again after the incident and flashed their lights at him. The fire chief alleges one of the teens pulled a knife and tried to stab him, while the boys allege Miller pulled the hair of one and pointed a gun at them.

As Fort Meyers' NBC2 noted, Miller is currently under internal investigation by his office's human resources department and is on paid administrative leave. He was released on a $5,500 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on February 9.
