WATCH: Former Telemundo president stands up to Fox hosts on live TV for using anti-immigrant slur

Former Telemundo president and Apprentice star Nely Galan scolded the hosts of Fox & Friends on Tuesday for using the term "illegal" to slur undocumented immigrants.

During a discussion about how Donald Trump could attract Latinos, Fox News host Brian Kilmeade opined to Galan that the candidate was opposed to "illegal immigrants, not immigrants."

"That's like saying, 'I like this minority but not that minority,'" Galan pointed out. "It's not fair because when you talk about people en masse, right -- it's like if you say to me, 'I don't like illegal immigrants,' well, I'm one of those people at one point."

"We don't even like that word," she explained. "Illegal immigrant, it's undocumented people."

"What do you call people that come across the border without permission?" Kilmeade wondered.

"People that come across the border are undocumented," Galan insisted. "When you speak about people in a way that's not lifting them up, that's not honoring all the good things that they're doing and what you hear is something's wrong with these people. That's not the right messaging."

Galan reminded the Fox News hosts that "Latinos are very conservative people."

"Republicans in general have not really messaged properly to all of these diverse people," she added.
