WATCH: Fox News guest makes false claim to justify gassing migrants ‘from a Christian standpoint’

Christopher Harris, the executive director of the organization Unhyphenated America, went on Fox News Tuesday to cite biblical justifications for keeping members of the migrant caravan outside the United States.

Harris began by noting that there are some biblical passages that suggest Jesus Christ would want his followers to welcome some refugees -- but he explained why these particular refugees wouldn't have passed the muster.

"We are a nation of Christians, and as such, we know we're commanded to give refuge to those who are in need," he said. "But here's the thing: We're not being allowed to welcome them into the nation. They're storming the border!"

Later, Harris falsely claimed that the migrant caravan at the border was made up of "90 percent" adult males, which to him indicated that Jesus would be wary of letting them in.

"Even from a Christian standpoint, the Bible talks about 'who are the poor,' right?" he asks rhetorically. "It’s the women and children. And what you’ll see at the border, it’s probably like 90% adult males."

In fact, many women and children seeking asylum in the United States were seen on camera fleeing tear gas canisters that were lobbed by Border Patrol agents.
