Watch: Fox News panel slams NBA coach Steve Kerr's free speech stance on anthem -- tells him to go to Romania

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr criticized the NFL for capitulating to President Trump and forcing players to stand for the national anthem.

"It's idiotic," Kerr said. "And I'm proud to be in a league that understands that patriotism in America is about free speech."

It was a hot topic on Fox News Channel's Watters World, where former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and former White House spokesman Anthony Scaramucci were guests.

Fox News host Jesse Watters started a rant about Kerr's comments Saturday night.

"When you're at your employers place of work, at a stadium he owns," Watters said, apparently ignorant of the fact that almost no American sports teams own the taxpayer-funded areas they play in, "He's paying you to work, he's not paying you to kneel, he's paying you to play football—you have to do what he wants you to do."

Lewandowski picked up the baton.

"If you don't want to stand for the national anthem you're welcome to go play overseas somewhere," Lewandowski said. "Good luck, Steve Kerr, making the same amount of money coaching in Romania—I don't think it's goign to happen.
