President Donald Trump traveled to ruby-red Texas on Monday to help endangered Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX).
The Senate race in the state has been a unique one as Democrat Beto O'Rourke traveled to every county to mobilize voters in areas that haven't seen a political leader in years. O'Rourke has also served as a contrast to the "Lyin' Ted" image by promising Republican voters that they may not agree, but that he'll never lie to them about where he stands and why.
Before leaving the White House, Trump told reporters that he now considers Cruz "beautiful" instead of a liar and he calls the junior Senator "Texas Ted." That runs in contrast with the recent ads calling out Cruz for wimping out when going up against Trump.
