In a speech Sunday at the LGBTQ Victory Fund Brunch, South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg slammed Vice President Mike Pence while praising his marriage to husband Chasten Buttigieg for bringing him “closer to God.”

During his speech, Buttigieg also spoke of his early struggles identifying as an LGBTQ youth.
