WATCH: Pro-Trump crowd boos Air Force mom questioning Pence about Khan family smears

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence (R) had to deal with questioning on Monday regarding running mate Donald Trump's remarks about Khizr Khan, Politico reported.

Pence was speaking at a town hall event in Carson City, Nevada when a woman describing herself as the mother of a US Air Force member told him that the GOP presidential candidate "has disrespected our nation's armed forces and veterans," as well as Khan, whose son, Army Captain Humayun Khan, died while fighting in Iraq.

The woman's remarks prompted loud boos from the crowd, as captured in this post from The Daily Edge:

"Will there ever be a point in time when you're able to look at Trump in the eye and tell him, 'Enough is enough'?" the woman asked Pence, continuing despite the harangues from the audience. "You have a son in the military. How do you tolerate his disrespect?"

After a few seconds, Pence motioned for the crowd to quiet down, saying, "That's what freedom looks like, and that's what freedom sounds like."

The governor also insisted that "no one more devoted" to veterans than Trump, while also refusing to join in Trump's attacks against the Khan family.

"Captain Khan is an American hero and we honor him and honor his family," said Pence. "The story of Capt. Khan is an incredibly inspiring story."

However, some attendees continued to insult the woman after the event, with one accusing her of "[violating] everyone elses rights" by questioning Pence in public.

"She was politicizing the veterans," said another attendee, 29-year-old Roen Horn. "She had an agenda."
