WATCH: Trump demands that Turkish reporter identify himself as 'friend or foe'

Days after the suicide bombing attack in Istanbul, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump asked a Turkish reporter to state his allegiance, Time reported.

Footage posted on Friday shows Trump speaking at a campaign event when he is interrupted by reporter Yusuf Serce, who asks him to "please mention Turkey."

"Are you from Turkey, sir?" Trump responds. "Good, congratulations. I actually have a very nice job in Turkey. I think he's friend. Are you friend or foe?"

The presumptive GOP presidential nominee then tells the audience that he has investments in the country, adding, "I have investments in a lot of different places. Turkey, by the way, should be fighting ISIS. I hope to see Turkey go out and fight ISIS."

Trump did not mention that besides allowing the US to use air bases in the southern portion of the country for its own strikes against the Islamic State terrorist group, Turkish officials arrested more than 1,000 people last year for suspected ties to the organization.

"I just wanted to let him say what he wants to say," Surce posted on Twitter after the encounter.

Besides often asking people at his rallies whether they are "friend or foe," Trump has asked supporters to raise their right hands and pledge to vote for him, which has drawn criticism for resembling a pledge of personal allegiance.
