Waukesha Police say they've recovered the red SUV that plowed into parade and a 'person of interest'
November 21, 2021
The Waukesha Police did a short briefing before 7 p.m. local Wisconsin time telling the press that they have a "suspected vehicle" and a "person of interest" involved in mowing down attendees of the city's holiday parade.
Police Chief Daniel P. Thompson confirmed at least 20 people were injured and likely more. Videos show a chaotic scene as the injured lay on the road and community members raced to help.
The chief also said that there were no other threats at this time and that they have secured and cleared the scene.
The story is still developing and the police are scheduled to do a longer briefing at 7:30 p.m. CDT.
WGTV revealed the vehicle the police believe was involved, posting photos that show the front smashed in and part of the bumper hanging off.
