West Virginia Democrats call for resignation or firing of DNC head Wasserman Schultz

At a meeting on Saturday, attendees at the West Virginia State Democratic convention voted unanimously to call for either the resignation or firing of Democratic National Committee head Debbie Wasserman Schultz, report The Hill.

Wasserman Shultz's tenure at the DNC has been a major topic of conversation as the primary election season has come to an end, with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders reportedly working on her ouster in his negotiations with rival Hillary Clinton's campaign.

In the West Virginia resolution, Wasserman Shultz was criticized for what delegates termed "dissension and disarray in the Party."

The resolution noted Wasserman Shultz has overseen the "worst electoral defeat in decades, "adding that the party "has lost more state legislative races than at any time since 1928."

The Florida congresswoman was dinged for her management of the Democratic primary debate schedule and for "creating the perception in the public eye of favoring one candidate over others, which results in lowering trust in the Democratic Party."

West Virginia Democrats also called for either elimination of superdelgates by the 2020 election or linking their votes to the results of state elections.
