CNN Legal analyst mocks Matt Whitaker for acting more dumbfounded than a ‘deer in the headlights’

On Monday, Attorney General Matt Whitaker said that he was fully briefed on the status of  Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe and that it is close to being  "completed.”

CNN Legal analyst Jeffery Toobin said that Whitaker's statement was not clear at all. "I have seen a deer in actual headlights who express themselves more clearly than the attorney general of the United States did there," he told CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer.

"What's your reaction?" Blitzer asked.

"I have no idea what he's talking about, and this is very serious stuff," Toobin said. "I mean, this man is utterly unqualified to be the attorney general. He cannot express himself about a matter of extreme importance -- the Mueller investigation. And he has raised all these questions about decisions he's going to review. What is he even talking about?"

"This is just a very serious matter. Some grown-up is going to have to clean it up soon," Toobin said.
