Mueller tells acting attorney general that the probe 'close to being completed'

Special counsel Robert Mueller briefed acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker that his investigation is "close to [being] completed," CNN reported Monday.


"And he also said that he has been fully briefed on the investigation," Justice reporter Laura Jarrett told CNN's Wolf Blitzer. "The first indication that we received today about what has happened since he has overseen since the acting Attorney General, the day of the election. We haven't known what his role has been except for the formal role overseeing the investigation."
