On Friday, CNN's Chris Cuomo schooled the Republicans about the traditional values of their own party.
U.S. Congressman Steve King (R-IA) came under scrutiny this week after he asked why the terms "white nationalism” and “white supremacism” were “offensive,” in an article for The New York Times.
"What did the hell happen?" Cuomo asked.
"This isn't the Republican Party. Remember with Trent Lott and George W. Bush, how Lott was making a joke about Strom Thurmond and George W. Bush came out and said, 'this is not who we are,'" Cuomo said.
"Segregation was a horrible period. Lott apologized. He actually stepped down from a position. That was the Republican Party. The conservative values, character counts," Cuomo said.
