'White customers only': This black woman is outraged after being denied entrance into an Alabama Waffle House

A Black woman was denied entrance into the Waffle House in Pinson, Alabama and claims that it is because of her race, reports AL.com

In a video that went viral earlier this week customer Jacinda Mitchell shows the locked doors of the restaurant, but highlights that there are white customers eating and being served inside. The Waffle House website also states that they are opened 24/7 for business.

"They have the door locked and they have customers in here, and they're saying that they're closed," Mitchell said. "The customers are eating and they happen to be white customers, and I am an African-American. They have people that they're serving, but they're telling me that they're closed."

The Waffle House is now investigating the allegations. Pat Warner, director of public relations and external affairs, said:

"We have launched an investigation to gather all of the facts. Waffle House is a welcoming place for everyone, and we are fortunate to enjoy a very diverse and loyal customer base who we do our best to serve every day. The employee involved should not have locked the front door at all and should have certainly opened the door for the customer when she arrived. We will get the facts and take appropriate action quickly."

This comes on the heels of multiple racially charged situations at Waffle Houses that have dominated headlines in the past few weeks. Last week Chikesia Clemons was violently arrested by officers at a Waffle House over claims she failed to pay for plastic utensils.
