'So what? Who cares what he says': Nancy Pelosi shuts down Andrea Mitchell hyping Gingrich attack on Mueller

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Thursday suggested that Fox News contributor Newt Gingrich was no longer relevant after he attacked the credibility of Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Last month, Gingrich praised Mueller's appointment, noting that the former FBI director had an "impeccable" reputation for "honesty and integrity."

But Gingrich changed his tune after the news broke that Mueller is interviewing witnesses for a possible obstruction of justice case against President Donald Trump.

"So what? Who cares what he says?" Pelosi said on Thursday after MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell asked her for a reaction.

"The fact is, what we really need is an outside independent commission," she added. "Right now, we have Mueller who is highly respected. When you respect somebody for their objectivity in law enforcement it doesn't change. Obviously, Newt is being the political Newt that he always is."
