'Women should form their own party': Rosie O'Donnell slams Dem hed for allowing anti-choice candidates

After a Democratic party chairman claimed the party may continue to back candidates who oppose abortion rights, Rosie O'Donnell floated the idea for a new party.

In an interview with The Hill, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Ben Ray Luján (D-NM) claimed there would be “no litmus test” for candidates running in the 2018 midterms. In response, O’Donnell suggested that maybe women should form their own party to ensure their rights remain intact.

"Women should form their own party if Dems do this," O'Donnell tweeted in all caps in response to another tweet claiming Dems were "throwing women, women's healthcare & reproductive choices under the bus."

Last year, both Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) , an Omaha, Nebraska mayoral candidate who opposes abortion rights.
