'You don't actually know that': Katy Tur shoots down Trump adviser's spin on Clinton and the FBI

Donald Trump's campaign communications director Jason Miller appeared on MSNBC on Saturday, but got relentlessly fact-checked by reporter Katy Tur when he tried to spin Friday's announcement from FBI Director James Comey regarding the investigation into Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server during her time as Secretary of State.

Miller insisted that the investigation into former Congressman Anthony Weiner (D-NY)'s sexting activities must have uncovered "something very remarkable" for FBI Director James Comey to send a letter to Congress 11 days before the 2016 election.

"You can say that 'clearly they found something remarkable,' Jason, but they have not indicated that they found anything remarkable. We have no evidence to say that the FBI found any new emails," countered Tur. "We also have no evidence to say that the FBI found any emails that were between Huma Abedin and Hillary Clinton."

"So right now, all we have is a vague, 3-paragraph from FBI Director James Comey, so how can your campaign feel comfortable," Tur asked, rushing to proclaim the nature of what investigators found?

Miller insisted again that "something very significant" must have been found for the FBI to make an announcement.

"But, Jason, you don't know something significant was discovered," Tur reiterated. "You don't actually know that, Jason."

Miller repeated his talking point about the FBI making an announcement so close to the election.

"Clearly there's something to do with national security or obstructions of justice," Miller said.

"'Clearly' is you putting your spin on it," Tur said. "Have you spoken to the FBI director, Jason?"

Miller admitted that he had not.

"So how do you know there's clearly something to do with national security?" Tur said. "
