'Mind-blowing': Internet erupts after Trump tweets that Fox & Friends is the most powerful show on TV
July 27, 2017
President Donald Trump's Thursday morning Twitterstorm cited a New York Times claim that "Fox and Friends" has become the most powerful TV show in America. The reason has nothing to do with ratings, awards, journalistic integrity or investigative journalism, however. It has everything to do with a single viewer who appears to get all of his news from the show: Trump.
Oddly, Trump cited The Times but called them the "Failing NYT"
"Suddenly, for no other reason than its No. 1 fan, it is the most powerful TV show in America," reads the key line from The Times story, titled "Watching 'Fox & Friends,' Trump Sees a Two-Way Mirror."
Twitter was quick to mock the president for his addiction to calling The Times a "failing" newspaper, despite subscriptions to the paper doubling in 2016. But also for his need to distract from the Russia investigation using every other possible issue and topic.
