Zimmerman's lawyer: Trayvon Martin broke my client's nose

Craig Sonner, the attorney for George Zimmerman, revealed a new allegation into the Trayvon Martin case Friday evening that, claiming his client suffered injuries at the hands of the slain 17-year-old.

In an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper, Sonner was asked if he could identify any injuries Zimmerman suffered on the night he shot and killed Martin. Sonner said that he believed Zimmerman's nose was broken and that the back of his head also had lacerations before describing what his client told him.

"Well, it was an injury done by Trayvon Martin," he said.

Cooper asked, "Do you know if it was during a tussle? Does he describe at all how that injury occurred?"

"I have not discussed with him the incident of that night other than the injury he sustained were from Trayvon Martin," Sooner replied. "I assume he hit him in the face and caused him to fall back and hit his head."

Sooner later reiterated that Zimmerman was standing behind the shooting as being "self-defense."
