'He's afraid of all of that': Ex-Trump lawyer explains former president's new 'meltdowns'

Donald Trump's recent frantic attacks on his Truth Social platform and in his speeches, combined with his at-times "wooden" demeanor, is less a sign that well-received Democratic National Convention is getting to him than it is he is a signal that he's worried about a jail sentence being announced before the election.

That is the opinion of former Trump lawyer and "fixer" Michael Cohen who spoke with Salon's Brian Karem, a former White House reporter, this week as they both attended the DNC in Chicago.

In his column for Salon, Karem reported on a conversation he had with Cohen — an avid Trump critic — as they shared a Lyft on the way to a convention event.

Trump fact-checked on Fox & Friends after making false claim about Kamala Harris and Putin

The moment after Donald Trump hung up after a call-in interview with the hosts of "Fox & Friends," co-host Brian Kilmeade immediately fact-checked one claim the former president made about Vice President Kamala Harris.

During one of the many rambling diatribes Trump launched on Thursday morning, he claimed Harris, in her capacity as vice president, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and then, three days later, the Russian strongman invaded Ukraine, with Trump asserting many people aren't aware of that.

'Compare and contrast': Ex-GOP insider has theory why Trump's attacks on Harris don't land

Former President Donald Trump has struggled so far to land a compelling line of attack against Vice President Kamala Harris, and former Republican insider David Frum has a theory about why.

Writing on X, Frum argues that some of the negative attacks Republicans have thrown at Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz would have had more of an impact if not for the fact that the alternative the GOP is offering is former President Donald Trump.

'I disagree': Trump-backing CNN strategist gets pushback for criticism of Harris substance

CNN's Scott Jennings was impressed by Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz's acceptance speech, but the conservative commentator felt like the party's convention has been lacking overall.

The Kentucky Republican agreed that Walz's neurodivergent son standing up to tearfully shout out his dad was a "cool moment," but he said Vice President Kamala Harris had some work to do to define herself Thursday night in her own acceptance speech.

A report from MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski on Donald Trump attacking Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) late Wednesday night where the former president curiously led by pointing out the Democrat is a "Jewish Governor" set off a wave of disbelief and seething anger on "Morning Joe" on Thursday morning.

On his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote, in part: "The highly overrated Jewish Governor of the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, made a really bad and poorly delivered speech talking about freedom and fighting for Comrade Kamala Harris for President, yet she hates Israel and will do nothing but make its journey through the complexities of survival as difficult as possible, hoping in the end that it will fail."

Inside the Democratic National Convention corporate interest moneyfest

CHICAGO — In ballrooms, barrooms and backrooms this week, the business of big business is getting done with Democrats out of public view.

'Deranged ranting': Trump bashed for slurring Josh Shapiro as 'overrated Jewish Governor'

Donald Trump raised eyebrows by highlighting Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro's Jewish faith when the ex-president slammed Shapiro's speech at the Democratic National Convention.

The Democratic governor, who was widely seen as a frontrunner to become Kamala Harris' running mate before she chose Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, undercut Trump's message by arguing that Republicans opposed freedom – including the freedom to vote for anyone but him – and the former president raged after midnight on social media.
