'Debbie Downer' James Carville bashed by MSNBC panel for panic over Kamala Harris

Reacting to an appearance by veteran Democratic strategist James Carville on MSNBC Thursday night in which he attempted to pour cold water on enthusiasm for Vice President Kamala Harris, the panel on "Morning Joe" hammered him for underestimating what is going on.

With Carville giving a dark warning that Donald Trump and his allies are going to come after Harris hard with an avalanche of attacks, former Hillary Clinton spokesperson Jennifer Palmieri all but rolled her eyes and stated that his point was more than obvious — and he needed to dial down the doom.

Trump in a 'sour mood' now that Harris has taken 'the spotlight' from him: news columnist

Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson on Friday suggested that former President Donald Trump is seething with jealousy now that Vice President Kamala Harris is drawing away media attention from him.

During a discussion on MSNBC about President Joe Biden's decision this week to pass the baton to his vice president by dropping out of the 2024 presidential race, Robinson said that it had generated a surge in enthusiasm within the party that would make the 2024 Democratic National Convention the "party of the year" in a few weeks.

'Embarrassing fail': NY Times roasted for quoting severed finger fraudster in poll writeup

The New York Times is taking heavy mockery after inadvertently citing a nationally famous convicted fraudster as an everyday voter.

The paper profiled some voters in their latest poll with Siena College released on Thursday, which shows former President Donald Trump's lead shrinking considerably and Vice President Kamala Harris locked in a neck-and-neck race. One of the voters they quoted, however, wasn't swayed by the shakeup in the race.

Timing of hush money ruling could blow up in Trump's face during debate with Kamala Harris

Reacting to reports that the office of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is pushing back at efforts by Donald Trump's lawyers to have the results of his 34-felony count hush money trial tossed on immunity grounds, MSNBC legal analyst Lisa Rubin claimed there's more at play than whether Judge Juan Merchan will agree.

Appearing on Friday's "Morning Joe," Rubin said the ruling could come down on Sept. 6 which could be problematic with a proposed presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris on tap at about the same time.

Speaking with fill-in host Jonathan Lemire, she explained, "Well, first of all, the judge has to make a determination about whether or not there is going to be a sentencing, but what's really important here, and I think this plays into the political calendar here, too, is that the judge has already committed he is going to make a decision about whether to set aside the verdict by September 6th."

"So when you hear the Trump campaign sort of backing away from the 'Anytime, anyplace, we'll debate Joe Biden,' which should have applied to Kamala Harris, as well, note that part may be contingent on what is going to happen on September 6th," she elaborated.

"If this conviction is upheld as many people suspect, you can understand why Trump would be very eager to avoid a debate with the person we are all referring to now as the person who is prosecuting the case, the biggest case, against Donald Trump," she claimed.

'Under his skin': Trump busted for reason he's 'rage-tweeting at 2:00AM'

According to former Republican National Committee chair Michael Steele, Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign's rapid response efforts and their "flexibility" is driving Donald Trump nuts, which is leading to a frenzy of late-night Truth Social "rage-tweeting."

Appearing on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," the co-host of MSNBC's "The Weekend" agreed with fill-in host Jonathan Lemire's claim that statements from the Harris campaign labeling the ex-president and his running mate Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) as "weird" is having an effect on Trump's psyche.

Calling the Harris campaign staff, "a little bit more aggressive, a little bit more edgy," than what was coming out of President Joe Biden's now-ended campaign, he explained, "That balance is something they'll do over the next couple of weeks."

"They'll have to layer into that, obviously, a vice presidential pick whose tone and the nuance of that will also have to get factored in," he continued. "But I love the flexibility here. I love the in-your-face, we're not going to lie down and curl up in the corner just because Donald Trump is rage-tweeting at 2:00AM — which says a lot if he is doing that. Which means this team has gotten under his skin. This team is going to be competitive."

"Will there be stumbles? Yes, because that is the nature of the game," he added. "But how they recover from that and how they set that up, I think, becomes the next side of the conversation going into the [Democratic] convention."

'Not playing well in Mar-a-Lago': Analyst suggests Trump unhappy with J.D. Vance

J.D. Vance's past comments about women and children might be giving Donald Trump second thoughts about choosing the senator as his running mate.

The Ohio Republican has drawn widespread criticism for his 2021 remarks dismissing Kamala Harris and other prominent Democrats as "childless cat ladies," and because he argued that same year that parents should be given additional voting power, and political commentator Michael Smerconish told CNN the former president and his allies must be unhappy about the uproar.

Trump slammed after proposing one-year jail sentence for flag burning:

With its 5-4 decision in Texas v. Johnson in 1989, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that burning the U.S. flag is constitutionally protected speech under the First Amendment. And the five-justice majority ranged from liberal Thurgood Marshall to Richard Nixon appointee Harry Blackman and Ronald Reagan appointees Antonin Scalia and Anthony Kennedy.

But 2024 GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump is now proposing incarceration for anyone who desecrates the American flag.

J.D. Vance argued for higher tax rate on childless Americans: report
