'Cracks have begun to emerge': Trump seen taking 'risks' that could cost him MAGA base

Any chance that Donald Trump may have of winning re-election will require that he expand the number of voters willing to choose him over President Joe Biden — and that has the former president making some political concessions that risk alienating some of his most ardent followers.

In recent weeks, Trump has gone wishy-washy on the far-right's plans for more extensive limits on abortion — which is angering the anti-choice right. And then he added insult to injury by backing House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) as he pushed through a foreign aid bill that is sending billions to Ukraine.

Trump aide warns to take his argument about assassinating opponents 'extremely seriously'

Former President Donald Trump's attorney John Sauer appeared to suggest during oral arguments at the Supreme Court over presidential immunity, that under certain circumstances it could be considered an "official act" for the president to assassinate a political rival — an argument that echoes a claim he made before the Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

This shouldn't just be thought of as an extreme hypothetical, warned Trump's former White House communications official Alyssa Farah Griffin in a post on X. Rather, it's something that should be taken at face value.

Arizona fake electors will be left 'holding the bag' even if Trump wins election: expert

While numerous people were charged in the Arizona fake elector effort to keep President Donald Trump in power back in 2020 — the former president, referred to as "Unindicted Co-Conspirator 1," so far gets to skate free.

Trump might not be indicted in the case yet, but it is another state indictment. And that means even if the 45th president wins the election come Nov. 5 and is able to serve out another term, he would be unable to pardon his cohorts like attorney and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and his former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows among others should they get convicted.
