A Florida Republican congressman warned Cuba poses a unique and urgent threat to the United States as President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened military action against the communist regime just 90 miles from American shores.

Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-FL), the only Cuban-born member of Congress, pushed back hard during a Fox News appearance on Wednesday on any suggestion of cutting a deal with Havana — hours after the Justice Department indicted former Cuban leader Raúl Castro on murder charges tied to the 1996 shootdown of two American exile planes.

The in-studio audience for Tuesday night’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on ABC burst into cheering and raucous applause after the host shared a clip of Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) putting acting Attorney General Todd Blanche in his place earlier in the day.
