'He wobbles': Trump biographer says insiders worry president 'lost a step' as health sinks

One of President Donald Trump's biographers said on Tuesday that people inside the West Wing know the president has "lost a step or two," as the administration seeks to bat down negative comments about the president's health.

Michael Wolff, who has written four books on Trump, discussed Trump's health and the way the administration has discussed it in the media on a new episode of The Daily Beast's podcast, "Inside Trump's Head." Wolff argued that Trump has not faced the same criticism for his health as his predecessor, Joe Biden, even though the signs of Trump's ill health continue to pile up.

Van Jones warns Trump's latest move pointed a 'dagger' at the 'heart of the West'

President Donald Trump's lack of action toward some global strongmen has created a situation where a dagger is pointed "at the heart of the West," according to one analyst.

Van Jones, a former White House advisor in the Obama administration, joined CNN's "NewsNight with Abby Phillip" to discuss a meeting held on Tuesday between the leaders of Russia, India, and China. Jones warned that the meeting should concern every American, and that Trump's praise of the leaders could become historically significant.

Newsom clocks Fox News' Jesse Watters as he tries to defend Trump from his trolling

Fox News' Jesse Watters tried to defend President Donald Trump from Gov. Gavin Newsom's (D-CA) recent trolling spree on Tuesday — but Newsom hit right back.

In recent weeks, Newsom has taken to mockingly imitating some of the most notorious "Trumpisms" through his press office account, including all-caps social media posts full of self-aggrandizing rhetoric that sometimes end with "THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!"

Trump's 'crusade to rehabilitate the Confederacy' has backfired: conservative analyst

President Donald Trump appears to face a demographics problem as the 2026 midterm election nears, and one analyst thinks his "crusade to rehabilitate the Confederacy" could make matters worse.

Stuart Stevens, an advisor to the anti-Trump group The Lincoln Project, joined The Bulwark's Tim Miller on the "Bulwark Super Speed" podcast on Tuesday to discuss the issue Trump is having with recruiting new voters to the Republican Party. Trump has previously touted gains he made among Black and Hispanic voters as evidence of his ability to grow the party. Stevens suggested those voters may be tiring of Trump's policies, some of which appear racist.

'It's all a big show': Dem governor exposes Trump official behind ICE's 'cruel adventures'

During a Tuesday news conference, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) took direct aim at President Donald Trump after he reiterated his plan to send the National Guard to his state.

Pritzker held his press conference directly after Trump concluded his own remarks to reporters in the Oval Office. In one exchange, Trump promised that he was going to send troops to Chicago, though he refrained from saying exactly when he would order the deployment. Pritzker — who is considered a contender for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination – particularly took issue with Trump requesting that he "beg" the administration for federal assistance.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) lost his temper during a hearing on Tuesday when Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández (D-NM) pressed him on whether there would be any investigation into why the Trump administration gave a sweetheart prison transfer to convicted Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell.

"The question was whether you would hold a hearing as to why she was transferred—" began Fernández.

Watch: Surging Dem candidate's one attack that drew 30-second standing ovation

Graham Platner, the Democratic hopeful in Maine looking to unseat Sen. Susan Collins next year, received the largest applause of his Labor Day speech in Portland on Monday when he railed against the ill-spent taxpayer money used to support the Israeli genocide in Gaza—a sharp contrast with many in the party who have shied away from such direct criticism of Israeli's assault and the backing it receives from the US government.

Even as support for Israel's assault on Gaza has plummeted among US voters and Americans across the political spectrum have increasingly demanded an arms embargo on the country, a number of Democratic politicians have struggled to keep up with the electorate in recent weeks.

'Gibberish': Treasury sec hammered after wild claim touting Trump's 'magic taxes'

President Donald Trump's Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent appeared to suggest in a new interview with Lara Trump on Fox News that the massive tariffs imposed by the administration, far from shrinking the economy, will actually grow it.

"Tariffs are delivering historic results for the American people," Bessent posted on X, accompanying a video of his interview. "Even the mainstream media is starting to admit it. I’ve said total tariff revenue could reach $300B this year, but it could be much higher. Every $300B adds 1% to GDP. With tariffs alone, growth could hit 5%."

‘A joke’: Trump’s national housing emergency scheme ignites fierce backlash

Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent says President Donald Trump may declare a national housing emergency this fall, amid a challenging environment for homebuyers.

'Buffoon!' MAGA commentator lobs obscene attack on Tim Walz over remark on Trump's health

Right-wing commentator Scott Jennings blew up on CNN over Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) leaning into circulating theories that President Donald Trump is in declining health, or had possibly already died — an issue that came to a head when the president was humorously asked about it during an Oval Office gathering on Tuesday.

"I think it speaks to, as well — I mean, Trump has been nonstop since returning into office, so something like this could take hold in the way that it did this past weekend and late last week, because we didn't see the president for a couple of days," said Washington Post reporter Sabrina Rodriguez. "I think the second thing here that's interesting, though, is it sort of flips on its head. We spent much of Biden's presidency hearing Trump supporters, more MAGA influencers, kind of documenting every day, you know, Biden stumbled getting on the plane or he walked a certain way, or he looked a certain way today. And now we're sort of seeing that flipped on its head with Democrats taking that approach."

'Big worry': Economist warns new bubble about to burst — and Trump may bail out 'grifters'

University of Michigan economics and public policy Professor Justin Wolfers said he has a fear that the cryptocurrency bubble will burst and that President Donald Trump will use taxpayer dollars to help bail out the crypto market, the way the United States did after the mortgage crisis in 2008.

Trump has profited over $5 billion with his own meme coin and is now opposing any regulation of cryptocurrency.

MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace in awe watching prominent Dem 'take a 2x4' to Trump claims

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson went on a full attack against President Donald Trump on Tuesday as the former warned that it appears federal agents are already staging an effort to invade Chicago the way that has been done with Washington, D.C.

Both Pritzker and Johnson accused Trump of pulling federal resources that aided the city and state's anti-crime programs that were helping communities, effectively defunding the police.
