'Infuriated' ex-senator lights up Trump over photo-op stunt on MSNBC: 'Such a joke!'

Former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) tore into President Donald Trump's move to federalize law enforcement in Washington, D.C. as a stunt — and accused him of tearing down everything that actually helps law enforcement stop crime.

"Okay, so one, this idea that if it works in Washington, D.C., then let's see where else we can do it," said anchor Alicia Menendez. "This normalization of using military force in American cities. And to clear this argument ... we've been spending all of our military resources abroad, what we really need to be doing is spending them at home. It's absurd. And it's not what Americans voted for."

Masked Border Patrol agents stun with arrests outside Gavin Newsom's rally

California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom has spent the week mocking President Donald Trump, adopting Trump’s signature social media style — extreme, self-promotional, hyperbolic, all-caps — to deliver taunts about his plans to counter Trump’s directive for Texas and other red states to redraw their congressional maps, a move aimed at reducing the number of Democratic-held districts and paving the way for Republicans to hold the House in November.

Governor Newsom’s focus has been on what he is calling his “Election Rigging Response Act,” legislation where he will ask voters in November to allow California to redraw its congressional district maps to respond to President Trump’s unprecedented move to conduct redistricting outside the constitutionally mandated decennial censuses.

'Incredible!' Analysts floored as Trump boast echoes Bush’s ‘Mission Accomplished’ mistake

A pair of analysts warned President Donald Trump on Thursday that his comments about inflation could come back to haunt him.

Trump said during a press conference in the Oval Office that the U.S. has "ended Biden's inflation nightmare." The latest inflation reports appear to paint a different picture. The Producer Price Index, which measures inflation in businesses, surged by 0.9% in July compared to the expected 0.2%. That was the largest inflation spike in three years, according to the data. Economists told CBS News that the data show that price hikes for consumers are imminent.

'Could not be bigger': Reporter warns Trump admin just handed Newsom a massive 'gift'

There was a huge show of force outside of a political event in Los Angeles on Thursday, prompting questions about the politicization of Customs and Border Patrol and immigration agents.

Just a few weeks ago, Democrats were hesitant about redistricting California to eliminate GOP seats, while Texas was attempting to eliminate Democratic seats. That appears to have changed, as local, state, and federal officials, along with labor leaders and activists, stood behind Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) as he issued a shot across the bow of the gerrymandering battle.

'Gives away the game': Data analyst exposes real driver behind Trump's DC crackdown

President Donald Trump called in federal agents to help crack down on crime in Washington, D.C., but CNN's Harry Enten said new polling explains the real reason he has taken the extraordinary step.

The president called in the National Guard to help with law enforcement in the nation's capital after a DOGE staffer was carjacked and beaten, and even though violent crime has declined in Washington over the last two years. Enten said that Trump was cracking down because that was still one issue where he enjoys public support.
