'Please refrain': Internet erupts as Trump 'threatens to take his shirt off' during speech

Donald Trump on Saturday was accused of playing the ultimate victim after he claimed that, if he took his shirt off, it would reveal a "beautiful" body with more wounds than any president in history.

Trump was giving the keynote address for the Faith and Freedom Coalition's "Road to Majority" in Washington, D.C., where he also denied his past stories were rambling and suggested the creation of a "migrant league of fighters" in the U.F.C.

'Trump is vile': Ex-president skewered for suggesting 'migrant league of fighters' in UFC

Donald Trump on Saturday suggested the creation of an ultimate fighting league for immigrants, leading to an outpouring of mockery.

Trump over the weekend gave the keynote address at the Faith and Freedom Coalition's "Road to Majority" in Washington, D.C. In that same talk, the former president came under fire after he sought to push back against reports that he was "rambling" when he told a story about sharks and electrocution at a recent rally.

'His brains are pudding': Internet mocks Trump for 'incoherent' defense of 'rambling' rant

Donald Trump on Saturday sought to push back against reports that he was "rambling" when he told a story about sharks and electrocution at a recent rally, leading some onlookers to say his attempt to defend his remarks was worse than the original telling itself.

Trump earlier in June ranted at a rally about batteries and shark attacks, leading the internet to question the ex-president's mental capacity. The former president was speaking in Las Vegas, when he at one point veered off into a discussion about shark attacks while apparently discussing President Joe Biden's environmental priorities related to electric vehicles.

Trump has 'more serious' problems than cognitive as he heads into debate: ex-Senator

Appearing on MSNBC's "The Weekend " on Saturday morning, former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) had some advice for President Joe Biden as he heads into his debate with disgraced ex-president Donald Trump and then she hinted the former president has additional issues of his own that go beyond questions about his mental competence.

Speaking with co-host Alicia Menendez, McCaskill stated Biden needs to go for the jugular when he confronts what is expected to be a combative Trump.

"I mean, they've [Trumps' camp] gone way out of their way to make this man [Biden] look incompetent," she pointed out. "When Joe Biden shows up — and not only will — he doesn't respect Donald Trump. I don't think he's going to be afraid to say 'Hey shut up man, again,' or even maybe more like 'Do you ever quit lying?'"

"I mean, he's got to do that, he's got to leave the presidential dignified Joe Biden at the door and he's got to appear as scrappy Joe from Scranton who's willing to take on big guys that are not there for the little guy," she continued. "And if he does that — you know, Donald Trump has his own cognitive issues and frankly he's got things that are more serious. But the point is that Joe Biden has an opportunity here, he has an opportunity to clear the air about whether or not he's strong enough to be commander-in-chief for another four years."

Trump brags about getting great 'ratings' on 'most of the television' in rambling video

In a video posted to his Truth Social account, former president Donald Trump promoted his appearance at a rally in Philadelphia on Saturday night and then got sidetracked boasting about supposed ratings for his rallies which are normally only streamed by the Right Side Broadcasting Network.

After pointing out that he is traveling on his "now very famous Trump Force One" he then more or less advised his fans on where they can watch it, which led to an offramp about "the television."

"We're having a big rally this evening, early evening, if you want to watch it, it's on most of the television," he explained.

"It will be on just about everybody, come to think about it," he continued before adding, "It's amazing, they're all picking it up. They must be getting ratings. It's very simple, if you get ratings, they pick it up. If you don't get ratings, they don't pick it up. A very simple business."

Lindsey Graham's 'mindnumbingly stupid' Fox News attack on Biden brutally dismantled

Reacting to a clip of Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) labeling President Joe Biden a "felon," former RNC chair and current MSNBC host Michael Steele laid into the South Carolina Republican for debasing himself even more in the service of Donald Trump.

As Steele put it Republicans are ramping up their attacks on Biden as Trump starts to slip in the polls, with Graham taking the new level up on that, " and the MSNBC host setting up the clip with, "Let's take a listen to what he has to say about Joe Biden as the real felon. "

Speaking with Fox personality Jesse Watters, a furious Graham sneered, "Next time you hear the word 'felon' in this election, I think the felon in this election is Joe Biden. What he's doing to the country is criminal."

"It is just mindnumbingly stupid what he just said," Steele commented as the clip concluded.

"Because, what you're saying ... I have a difference with his policies that's somehow criminal and therefore he's a felon," he continued. "Donald Trump was convicted by 12 of his peers in a New York courtroom 34 times. Help us narratively explain to folks why they should take the fog out of their eyes and understand the difference between these two when they are looking at assessing which of these two men, not is a felon, but who should be president of the United States."

'Why are we here?' Judge Cannon buried for wasting everyone's time with needless hearing

Appearing on MSNBC on Saturday morning, an exasperated former SDNY Criminal Division Deputy Chief Kristy Greenberg ripped into U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Judge Aileen Cannon for holding a hearing on Friday to hear arguments about dismissing special counsel Jack Smith.

Speaking with the hosts of "The Weekend," Greenberg compared the hearing to a useless office meeting where participants eventually complain: "Why are we here?"

With "Weekend" co-host Alicia Menedez prompting her by asking, "Kristy you described the meeting as a meeting that could've been an email," the former prosecutor turned MSNBC legal analyst made the meeting comparison and then added, "This could have easily been resolved with an order. The question is basic: did Merrick Garland have the authority to appoint a special counsel? The answer is clearly, yes."

RELATED: Cannon's colleagues implored her to give Trump case to more experienced judge: N.Y. Times

"The statutory authority gives them the right to do so , the Supreme Court has said so," she stated before elaborating. "It's a deeply rooted tradition to have these outside counsel come in and conduct an investigation. Who said that? [Supreme Court justice] Brett Kavanagh."

"So even a baby judge who is new to this, knows they've got to follow the Supreme Court," she continued. "I come back to like what is actually going on here; we've had about a year of Judge Cannon and seeing what she's up to and it seems like she has a playbook. The first is distract, take these very simple legal issues and make them seem really complicated, so we are not talking about Donald Trump willfully retaining classified documents, Step two is to use these complications, use the supposed complications to delay."

Watch: Conservative laughed at after he's busted for lying about election fraud in 2020

The president of the far-right Heritage Foundation was embarrassed on MSNBC on Saturday morning after he insisted the 2020 presidential election was stolen from Donald Trump, only to have MSNBC's Symone Sanders-Townsend pop his balloon by citing his organization's own research on voter fraud.

During his appearance on MSNBC's "The Weekend," Kevin Roberts first battled with former RNC president Michael Steele about the Project 2025 plan to dismantle the government and remake it into an authoritarian regime presided over by newly re-elected Donald Trump.

That led to a question over whether he would accept the results of the 2024 election if Donald Trump lost again.

Using a stock hedge used by Republicans, Roberts said he would if there was no "massive fraud" like in 2020.

"There was no massive fraud," Sanders-Townsend shot back.

"There was election fraud, it has been documented over the years," the Heritage head claimed. "By the way, the Heritage Foundation is concerned about election fairness for decades and has been documenting this problem for a very long time."

Holding and reading from documents, the MSNBC host replied, "I believe, according to the Heritage Foundation, sir, by your count, the Heritage Foundation has done an investigation and according to your count, there have been 1513 proven instances of voter fraud across the United States since 1982."

"Yeah it is very hard to document," he replied as she emphasized "1500," and off-screen "Weekend " host Alicia Menendez could be heard giggling.

"The Democrat (sic) party is very good at fraud," he continued.

Persisting, he added, "The key thing here, which I think we would both agree on, is that we had aspire at the Heritage Foundation to seeing a poll after this election where every American believes their vote was counted. I care as deeply about someone on the political left with whom I disagree saying they have confidence in the outcome of the election instead of you. turning this into a partisan discussion, which you have done a good job of."

"It's not partisan to ask if you will accept the results of the election," the MSNBC host shot back.

Michael Steele snaps at Project 2025 architect over threat to gut government for Trump

An interview with the man called the "architect" of the far-right Project 2025 plan to dismantle the federal government and remake it into a Donald Trump-friendly authoritarian nightmare quickly turned ugly on MSNBC on Saturday morning.

Early in the segment on MSNBC's "The Weekend," co-host and former RNC chair Michael Steele got in the face of Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts who said he saw no problem firing a government employee who donated to a Democratic candidate.

What followed was the two talking over each other with Roberts claiming more than 50,000 federal employees would be summarily fired after complaining that 95 percent of government employees "give political contributions to the liberal Democratic party."

"You're going to fire someone because they gave a check to a Democratic candidate?" an incredulous Steele asked.

"No, we're going to fire someone — and the number needs to be more than 50,000, considering there are 2 million federal employees," Roberts shot back. "Because over the last century, the radical left has seen the administrative state as the fourth branch of government. They're unelected bureaucrats — nothing against your dad, a human being, you know that. obviously. But ultimately, we have to devolve power from the imperial state --."

"But you would fire my dad because he wrote a check to a Democratic candidate without any appreciation or understanding where his political allegiance actually lies," Steele interrupted. "You take away their job, why does that matter?"

"If they are doing their job about a mission that is misaligned," Roberts shot back. "For example, the U.S. Department of Education. Thankfully, president Trump deserves credit for saying he wants to end the Department of Education. That means employees in that agency, even if they have been serving a mission with great competence will have to look for another job."

"The folks you are identifying who are Trump-aligned are the ones who are going to be coming in, " Steele parried.

"You are positive those people are incompetent," Roberts complained.

"I'm not, Steele protested. "As much as you are thinking I am positing these people are incompetent, you are positing they [existing employees] are somehow executing a nefarious agenda."

"Some of them are," the Heritage head claimed.

Justice Alito singled out as roadblock to stalled Trump criminal immunity ruling

During an appearance on MSNBC's "The Weekend," Slate legal analyst Mark Joseph Stern pointed the finger at Justice Samuel Alito as the culprit for why the Supreme Court has yet to issue a ruling on whether Donald Trump should be afforded blanket criminal immunity.

Speaking with the hosts, Stern was asked why the court is dragging its feet on a case that could have a major impact on the 2024 presidential election.

"I think the problem here is that the Supreme Court's conservatives are, if not corrupt, then wrapped up in this fantasy of a presidency that has safeguards, that has guard rails against abuse and corruption and they don't think what Donald Trump did at the end of the day, was all that bad," the legal analysts stated.

"This came out loud and clear in the conservatives' decision on the ballot removal case where the court refused to grapple with this question on whether Trump engaged in insurrection, refused to address the true gravity of January 6, and issued a very formalistic non-originalist opinion that allows Trump to appear on the ballot, despite the 14th's Amendment clear bar against insurrectionists holding federal office," he continued.

"We could see that same dynamic play out on this decision," he continued. "Maybe that is the reason for the delay behind the scenes but I also think it is possible that Justice Sam Alito is simply dragging out the opinion writing process to run as much interference for Trump as possible — to run out the clock and ensure his guy doesn't have to see meaningful legal progress in this case beyond November and beyond."

Ten Commandments governor declares no church-state separation in rough Fox News interview

Louisiana Republican Governor Jeff Landry appeared surprised in a Friday Fox News interview when asked to defend his newly-signed law requiring the Bible's Ten Commandments to be posted in every public school classroom throughout the state, which critics say is unconstitutional.

Speaking about the First Amendment principle of separation of church and state, which the U.S. Supreme Court has affirmed at least a half-dozen times, Landry declared: "I challenge anyone who says that to go find me those words in the First Amendment. They don't exist."

Ben Carson put on the spot on CNN over Louisiana's Ten Commandments school mandate

During a cerebral exchange with retired Dr. Ben Carson about the purpose of displaying the Ten Commandments in U.S. schools, CNN's Abby Phillip presented a tricky hypothetical.

Phillip asked: "I'm saying that the Ten Commandments comes from your religious belief in the Christian Bible... would you be comfortable, for example, with a public school hanging the five pillars of Islam in a classroom?"
