'My dog knows the case better than her': Internet slams Alina Habba after fraud case boast
A snippy Alina Habba slapped back Wednesday when confronted with a new analysis from a conservative publication predicting former President Donald Trump will be forced to pay a large part of his $355 million civil fraud judgment.
Habba appeared on Fox News Wednesday to discuss a National Review article from Andrew McCarthy arguing Trump could face “financial peril” after Justice Arthur Engoron’s landmark ruling.
“The realist in me is not banking on a sweeping appellate win for Trump,” wrote McCarthy. “I anticipate that he will get material relief in terms of the dollar amount, but I wouldn’t hold my breath on the rest of the penalties. And those penalties matter. A lot.”

Faced with this quotation, Habba extended McCarthy a not-quite sincere invitation.
“I welcome him to be part of the legal team if he thinks he knows the case better than the team that tried it for eleven weeks,” Habba snapped. “I’ve been on this case for the better of three years.”
Habba then claimed Engoron’s ruling was not based in fact and she would prove on appeal.
The individual who posted the video to X Wednesday noted Habba “didn’t seem too happy” and the bulk of his followers agreed.
Atogrim Von Drakin referenced reports of Habba’s courtroom struggles — which included incurring Engoron’s wrath to the point where he shouted at her to “sit down” and mistakenly objecting to her own documents — when he cited her invitation to those who understood the case better than she did.
“Good lawrd I know the case better than her,” he wrote. “My dog knows the case better than her. The dirt between my dogs toes knows the case better than her!”
“Why would he want to take a losing case on?” added @CreampieOrDie. “What a weird dare.”
“For someone who just lost a case costing her client nearly half a billion dollars,” said @jacktomalis. “Habba displays an unwarranted amount of smugness.”
