Mother Jones editor David Corn this week travelled to Donald Trump's rally in Reading, Pennsylvania, where he spoke with many of the former president's supporters about how they would react if he came up short in his third White House bid.

The supporters who spoke with Corn universally said that there was no way that Trump could legitimately lose the 2024 presidential election, and some of them even predicted violence should Vice President Kamala Harris be declared the winner.

Donald Trump seemed to "repel" the voters he needs most in the closing weeks of his re-election campaign, according to one anti-Trump conservative.

Both the former president and Vice President Kamala Harris need to win over suburban voters, and specifically women in those areas, to win the election, and panelists on "CNN News Central" agreed that Trump had prioritized young male voters, who are traditionally unlikely to participate.

During an appearance on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson went on a tirade aimed at Republican Party vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance over his willingness to do anything to gain power.

After watching a clip of Vance calling Vice President Kamala Harris "trash" during a rally in Georgia on Monday, an incredulous Robinson blurted, "J.D. Vance? What is wrong with that guy!" and then he was off on a rant.

"He's supposed to be smart, he wrote a book. It is the most idiotic --," as co-host Joe Scarborough interrupted with, "He said Trump was America's Hitler, he said Christians should not vote for Donald Trump. He said he could never support Donald Trump because of what he says about immigrants and about the others."

"Exactly, exactly," Robinson agreed. "But I've seen ambition in politics, but, I just, this is something else! They're eating cats and dogs in Springfield, in his state, which is a lie to his constituents. His Republican governor tells him it is a lie. The Republican mayor tells him it's a lie. He doesn't bother to go to Springfield to see for himself! This guy is just awful."

Returning to Vance calling Harris "trash," co-host Mika Brzezinski contributed, "I refer to [MSNBC's] Nicolle Wallace who said, 'That was the worst political move I've ever seen, and I worked for Sarah Palin,'" which led the Morning Joe panel to burst into laughter.

Georgia's former lieutenant governor predicted that "herds of Republicans" would back Kamala Harris over Donald Trump.

Geoff Duncan, a lifelong Republican who attended this year's Democratic National Convention and has endorsed Harris, told CNN that the election offered GOP voters a chance to resuscitate their party by handing the former president another defeat.

A panel on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Tuesday argued that former President Donald Trump has thrown out the playbook that made him successful in the closing weeks of the 2016 presidential campaign.

While discussing the final two weeks of the 2024 campaign, guest Tim Miller noted that Trump eight years ago was comparatively restrained and policy focused as then-rival Hillary Clinton struggled in the wake of former FBI Director James Comey's bombshell letter that appeared to reopen the investigation into her use of a private email server while she served as secretary of state.

The entire panel on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" expressed a combination of shock and disgust on Tuesday morning after watching a clip of GOP vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance using his last campaign speech to call Vice President Kamala Harris "trash."

On Monday night, Donald Trump's running mate told a crowd in Georgia, "In two days, we are going to take out the trash in Washington, D.C., and the trash’s name is Kamala Harris.”

As one panelist noted, calling Harris yet another ugly name is another unforced error for a campaign that has turned off the very female voters Trump and Vance need to have any chance to win.

"The guy that wrote 'Hillbilly Effigy,' I mean 'Hillbilly Elegy,' the guy who said Trump was 'America's Hitler.' The guy who said Christians could never vote for Trump. The guy who put himself out there as conservative but different, that is the guy who, last night, called Kamala Harris 'trash,'" co-host Joe Scarborough prompted his panel.

Addressing Morning Joe regular Claire McCaskill, he asked, "And if you could -- over the last several weeks, if you could name about ten things that the Republican ticket could do to drive women voters away, to drive Hispanics away, drive older voters away, they've checked every one of those boxes."

"It's nuts," McCaskill exclaimed. "I mean, if you look at it, they have -- the strength of Kamala Harris is women voters, right? So what do they do the last two weeks of the campaign? They spend most of their time offending women voters. Keep in mind who they have to get to the polls to win: they have to get young men, low propensity voters."

A Wall Street Journal reporter noticed a shift in the confidence level within Donald Trump's campaign team heading into Election Day.

White House reporter Annie Linskey joined other panelists on "CNN This Morning" to discuss the election, and she said the former president's team no longer seems as confident than they did even a week ago.

Early on election day in America, a former speechwriter in the George W. Bush W. White House claimed the campaign of Donald Trump could not be happy with the general lack of enthusiasm surrounding their candidate in the past few days.

Sitting down with MSNBC "Way Too Early" host Jonathan Lemire, political analyst Elise Jordan told the host that the poor turnout at Trump's last few rallies were indicative of a campaign and candidate who have both run out of steam.

With Lemire pointing to a North Carolina rally on Monday that was sparsely attended, Jordan deadpanned, "The act has grown stale."

"After Madison Square Garden, I think it really reminded voters what they don't like about him," she continued. "They don't like the behavior that he encourages in his supporters. They don't like the racism that they hear from Trump. They don't like the crudeness, the inappropriate language and gestures and all the antics that he's been up to at these rallies that I wouldn't want my child to be at."

"It has just is getting tiresome, and I think that's what's in Ann Selzer's Iowa polls, I think that's what we're seeing in a state that hasn't been oversaturated with political ads and hadn't been a target of either campaign," she added. "Voters in that poll and, if that poll is an outlier, maybe it is, maybe it's not."

Win or lose on Election Day, it's unlikely the 78-year old Donald Trump will ever hold another presidential campaign rally again, and yet some of his supporters over the past week have stopped showing up for his final tour, leading reporters on several networks to mention there are "a lot of empty seats."

Who will win the presidential election is anyone's guess, but for the Republican nominee coming to the end of his third campaign, some expected more people would be out to get one last rush of the MAGA experience.

Oprah Winfrey took the stage Monday night and roused supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris in the critical battleground state of Pennsylvania, where she warned that the country is on the “precipice of danger," and shared what's at stake in Tuesday’s election.

“We don’t get to sit this one out. If we don’t show up tomorrow it is entirely possible that we will not have the opportunity to ever cast a ballot again,” Winfrey said at a packed outdoor rally in Philadelphia.

CNN political commentator Van Jones said Monday that the one “breakthrough message” that’s working with young, Black men in crucial battleground states like Pennsylvania and Michigan is: "Kamala Harris wants to lift you up, Donald Trump wants to lock you up.”

Jones, a former Obama White House official, made the comment during an appearance on CNN’s “The Source,” where he told host Kaitlan Collins that the campaign discovered only in the last 72 hours that the message seems to be sticking with the young, critical voting block.

A journalist who was given an insider’s view of Donald Trump’s campaign said that while the former president believes he will win a second term Tuesday, those closest to him “fear that the bottom has started to fall out” and aren’t too sure anymore.

“He does believe that he’s going to win,” Tim Alberta, a staff writer at The Atlantic, told CNN’s Erin Burnett on Monday. He added that Trump, “of course, has a pretty distorted view of political reality, I think that’s been the case for quite some time.”

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) knocked former President Donald Trump on the final day of the 2024 campaign by poking fun at one of his campaign's closing messages before Election Day, jabbing: “I guess they are ending with ‘more cavities?”

“I will note that I was a little shocked that one of their closing arguments for Donald Trump was, 'Take the fluoride out of water?' I guess they are ending with ‘more cavities?” Klobuchar asked, rhetorically, Monday during an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. “This doesn't make sense, and to me, you have seen Kamala Harris from the beginning unite our party and immediately reach out to independents and Republicans.”
