'Dangerous news': Ducked events lead to 'a new sense of unease in Trump's inner circle'

Donald Trump's sudden disinterest in making appearances before friendly crowds or interviewers has made his closest advisers worried about his re-election prospects, reports MSNBC host Jonathan Lemire.

Appearing on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," Lemire noted that Trump has been blanket canceling public appearances at an alarming rate, which is curious since there is so little time before voters head to the polls.

During a discussion with branding expert Donnie Deutsch, Lemire stated, "Let's talk about where things stand right now, up front, the race is close. It is basically a tie, but there does seem to be some slight shifts in momentum. A few weeks ago, Democrats, you heard it, I heard it, we reported it, were nervous about Harris –– she's not doing enough, she's not out there, she's not campaigning. It's all changed: the media blitz, now she's barnstorming across the country. Now, Trump is the one who has really pulled back, canceling interviews left and right. And there seems to be a new sense of unease coming from the inner circle."

"It is interesting, exactly as you said," Deutsch agreed. "You feel the campaigns –– it's within the 48-yard lines obviously –– but you feel it going like this. "

"In the last few days, as Trump disappeared, or at best sways to music, you've got to ask the question: is there something wrong with him?" he continued. "I mean he really seems to have kind of just literally backed off. He canceled NBC, he didn't do '60 Minutes.' He's probably cancelling a town hall. He seems to be trying to run out the clock and that is dangerous news."

Lulu Garcia-Navarro made the comments Thursday night in analyzing a moment earlier in the day when MAGA hecklers at a Wisconsin rally for Harris prompted her to say: “Oh, you guys are at the wrong rally. No, I think you meant to go to the smaller one down the street.”

‘I’d make a lousy employee’: Mark Cuban says there's no deal for him in Harris cabinet

Billionaire entrepreneur and "Shark Tank" star Mark Cuban shot down talk that he would join a potential Harris administration – without a TV sales pitch of himself – saying Thursday night that he’s focused on his pharmaceutical company, and can “ have more impact outside rather than inside.”

“No, I’d make a lousy employee, showing up with a suit, you know, going to meetings, that is not me,” Cuban told CNN’s Erin Burnett on her show “OutFront.” He went on to tell the host that his pharmaceutical company Cost Plus Drugs “is my focus right now.”

'He was right!' Harris team throws Trump's resurfaced debate 'courage' clip back at him

'How can Republicans not like that?' Ex-GOP lawmaker makes conservative case for Harris

Former Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA) opened up to MSNBC's Ari Melber on Thursday about why she is enthusiastically backing Vice President Kamala Harris for president — her first time going for the Democratic ticket — and outlined why, despite Harris' liberal beliefs, traditional, conservative Republicans would have a lot to like in a Harris administration, even beyond desires to dethrone former President Donald Trump from their party's leadership.

This comes after Harris has spent weeks pushing to win support and endorsements from Republicans in battleground states, culminating this week in a massive Republicans for Harris event in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania.

CNN hosts broke out in guffaws Friday as a reporter described how his search to find a “Swiss-made” watch linked to Donald Trump led him to the maker of a honey which is laced with Viagra.
