'I only have 2 hours tonight': Watch CNN's Don Lemon destroy Trump's 'best people' one by one

Court filings in the cases against two close associates of President Donald Trump dominated the news cycle Friday night.

But to open his show, CNN host Don Lemon went back to one of the day's earlier stories, comments made by former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson about Trump, which prompted a furious response from the president.

"So often, the President would say here's what I want to do and here's how I want to do it and I would have to say to him, Mr. President I understand what you want to do but you can't do it that way. It violates the law," Tillerson said.

"Rex Tillerson didn't have the mental capacity needed. He was dumb as a rock and I couldn't get rid of him fast enough. He was lazy as hell. Now it is a whole new ballgame, great spirit at State!" Trump tweeted.

That blowup was just one of the day's developments involving the "best people" Trump promised would serve the nation under him.

"These are the best people," Lemon mused. "The president hired Rex Tillerson, the guy he now calls dumb as a rock and lazy as hell. He hired John Kelly, who won't even speak to him now. He hired Paul Manafort to run his campaign at the most crucial moment, when he won the nomination."

Lemon went through other failed Trump nominees.

"Do you want me to go on?" he asked. "There are so many—I mean, I only have two hours tonight, if there isn't breaking news at the end of this. On and on and on."
