Fox News personality Sean Hannity scrambled for a message on Wednesday evening, after Republicans received one of the most brutal midterm losses of the generation.
Hannity started by raging against the fact that the GOP's plans for flipping Michigan's Senate seat went so badly astray, obsessing over left-wing Twitch streamer Hasan Piker, who made appearances with Sen.-elect Abdul El-Sayed.
"Nobody in the Democratic Party stood up to Hasan Piker and that wing of the party, but the inclusion party, they did kick out Haley Stevens, she's out of the party. That's what we're dealing with."
Before long, though, Hannity started to admit the Republican Party needs to change direction to find its way out of the wilderness.
"There are lessons to be learned," said Hannity about President Donald Trump's foreign policy and military campaigns, which were a huge part of voter discontent according to polls. "I absolutely stand by the war with Iran. Unfortunately, there was some indecisiveness and it prevented a quick lasting outcome."
Hannity also acknowledged that Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids have been terrorizing communities and alienating key voting groups. "It's time to just ask the American people what they want and what they don't want in terms of enforcement moving forward," he said.
